Did you know that fashion is the third-highest polluting industry in the world? Or that less that 1% of clothing material is recycled into something else? And what happens to the rest… It ends up in our landfills and waterways.

Those are just a few of the things I learned at Atlanta Sustainable Fashion Week’s VIP, World Environment Day Reception at the Ponce City Market. Held at Citizen Supply inside of Ponce City Market, the showcase featured a panel discussion on sustainability in the fashion industry. Local experts discussed the challenges of sustainability and how individuals, communities, and the industry can move towards more sustainable practices.

The panel discussion was followed by a beautiful runway show featuring some of ATLSFW’s designers. The designers showcased included Bombchel, Everythang Dope, Aysegul Ikna, and Gilchrist.
